Every season, we like to take our family on a holiday-inspired trip. One of our favorites is checking into the Christmas Wonderland that is the Apple Farm Inn. Here, we let our holiday spirit be filled with cheer. Sparkling lights drape over every surface, casting a warm glow, jumbo garland adorned with oversized ornaments frames the windows, doors, and staircase, and a fire roars in the lobby as guests are invited to enjoy complimentary cookies and refreshments. It truly is as breathtaking as it sounds, which is why we chose to spend our holiday vacation experiencing an Apple Farm Christmas. Come along, see what we saw!

THE ROOMS!!! I heart the rooms at The Apple Farm. Recently remodeled with a touch of shabby chic, each room has a unique style and décor. Every room comes stocked with a cozy fireplace, seating area, television, coffee maker, sparkling cider, souvenir décor, apple, and of course, the plush Apple Farm robes. They even provide real metal keys to the room, and during Christmas, each room has golden bells hung on the doors. We love Apple Farm! It is so cozy and beautiful, you’ll want to check in and never check out. Check rates now!

Apple Farm Restaurant:

The Apple Farm Restaurant San Luis Obispo is the restaurant at the inn and it is sooo yummy! We dined there both breakfast and dinner, because…why not? The atmosphere is cozy, the food is amazing, the drinks selections are great and guests are provided with dining credit. Oh, and during the holidays there is live Christmas music performed from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday and Saturday nights.

Also, check their holiday calendar for special events happening at the Apple Farm Restaurant throughout the season. For example, Ugly Sweater Day will earn you 15% off your meal when you wear your favorite ugly Christmas sweater to the restaurant. That's just one of many daily specials going on, so be sure to check dates!

Of course, you are only minutes from Downtown San Luis Obispo where the dining options are plentiful. Check out the Apple Farm menu.

Breakfast at Apple Farm Restaurant in San Luis Obispo:

The omelets are amazing, and honestly, I could stay a week just to work my way through all the different ones. If you only have a chance to order one, try the Chevre Omelet with goat cheese, jack cheese, balsamic-glazed onions, arugula, green olives, and mushrooms conserva. It literally made my eyes roll in the back of my head. Plus, all breakfasts come with a muffin from the Apple Farm bakery. Oh, the muffin! Simply perfection!

Dinner at Apple Farm Restaurant:

Various nights throughout the holidays is Supper with Santa. This is festive buffet dinner with Santa available for photos while kids get to make crafts and receive  a fun goodie bags to take home.

The pot roast is to die for and something you must try!!! I also really like the beef stroganoff. The meat is fall-a-part tender. Washed down with cold IPA or nice glass of Apple Farm Cabernet and you are in heaven.

Where to Drink at Apple Farm SLO:

Wine, wine and more wine!! Apple Farm in San Luis Obispo is situated within wine country, so guests are only minutes from various wineries to enjoying a multitude of tastings. The great thing is that you don’t have to even leave the inn to sip on delicious vino.

Welcome Drinks:

Check in and get your sip on. Upon check-in, every guest is greeted with a welcome glass of Apple Farm wine. We love the Cabernet, so that’s what we enjoyed right from the start. While we adults decompressed after a long drive, enjoying the warm, cheerful décor and deep red wine, the kids had a blast exploring the lobby while sipping on hot cider and cocoa.

Daily Wine Reception at Apple Farm:

More wine! Every night at the Apple Farm, guests are invited to the free welcome wine reception from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. This is a great chance to try a variety of wines from the local wineries. A table of little nibblers is set out to munch on with your wine. This is held in the Garden Room, which is located near the Trellis Court rooms.

During the holidays there is usually a holiday movie playing throughout the reception to add to the Christmas cheer. There are also special holiday additives throughout the season to be aware of, like Candy Cane day or Mulled Wine Day.

Santa:

Every Saturday until after the holidays, Santa comes between 9:30am and 12:30pm to visit the Apple Farm Inn. It an easy and fun way for the kids to just hang out with Santa. By the end of our trip, we felt like we were old friends.

Apple Farm Gift Shop:

Shopping! Come ladies, we love our shopping and it is even better during the holidays! The shop is all decked out making my heart skip a beat. The kids can have fun too! The shop has created a game for the kids.

Find Dash the Missing Elf!

This is probably my kids favorite Christmas activity at the Apple Farm Inn. Every day at the Apple Farm Gift Shop, sneaky Dash is hiding and if you find him you get an Apple Farm Tee-shirt and a PIE!!! My kids take this very seriously and no matter how hard he may be to find, they refuse to give up the hunt, which is fine for us ladies…more shopping time. Luckily every year we find him! Phew.

Everyday during the holidays there is something special going on, like Rudolph Day, Day of Giving, Humbug Day, just to name a few.  To be sure you don't miss anything during your stay, check the monthly calendar for daily events. Check Rates.

Hot tub and pool:

There is a pool at the Apple Farm Inn in San Luis Obispo, and although it was too cold to enjoy the pool, we did enjoy the hot tub after dinner. One last effort to burn up some excess energy, the kids really loved being out in the cold night air in a warm Jacuzzi, and yes, it worked! They were tired and ready to relax while us adults enjoyed one (or two) more bottles of wine.

For those who love the holidays, Apple Farm Inn is a holiday heaven. The décor alone is worth the trip, but coupled with all the extras that Apple Farm San Luis Obispo provides each guest, it is truly a magical experience. Guests of all ages love to stay, but families will really enjoy all the activities during the holidays. If you want to add a little extra jolly to your season, book a stay right away and have a Merry Apple Farm Inn Christmas.
